Job summary

Hunter Douglas in Sarasota, FL is seeking a Product Development Engineer for Outdoor Products. The role applies mechanical engineering to develop exterior products from concept to production launch.

You will work across Product Management, Process Engineering, Operations, and Suppliers to deliver robust, manufacturable designs meeting performance and durability standards. The position requires a BSME, experience with exterior products, and proficiency in NX and SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• BSME required or equivalent experience.
• Experience designing mechanical components/assemblies for consumer or architectural products preferred.
• Experience with exterior or outdoor products is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and validate mechanical components and assemblies for exterior products.
• Use NX and/or SolidWorks to create models, assemblies, and drawings.
• Plan and execute functional and durability testing; analyze data for improvements.
• Coordinate prototype builds, pilot runs, and production launches.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
