Hunter Douglas, a global leader in window coverings, seeks a Product Development Engineer — Outdoor Products. You will design, analyze, and validate mechanical components for exterior products like screens and awnings, using NX or SolidWorks, while coordinating with Product Management, Operations, and Suppliers.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent experience required.
• Experience designing mechanical components for consumer or architectural products.
• Experience with exterior/outdoor products is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and validate mechanical components and assemblies for exterior products.
• Develop solutions for new product introductions and quality issues.
• Create models and production drawings using NX or SolidWorks.
• Consider outdoor exposure, wind loads, UV, and temperature extremes in designs.
• Define requirements, tests, and validation methods for safety and durability.
• Perform DFMEA, tolerance stack-ups, and statistical analysis.
• Plan functional and durability testing and analyze results.
• Lead prototypes, pilot runs, and production launches.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Utilize rapid prototyping and 3D printing to refine designs.
