Job summary

Ace Hardware is seeking an OPE Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain small engine equipment in our store service area. You’ll handle mowers, chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, and generators, using proper tools and safety practices. A focus on accuracy, safety, and customer service is essential.

You will work in a busy retail repair environment, performing maintenance tasks and documenting work while following store procedures and safety guidelines. Training may be provided onsite.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and repairing small engine equipment.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools safely.
• Attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on small engine equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, blade sharpening, spark plug replacement, carburetor cleaning).
• Repair or replace defective parts including engines and electrical components.
• Operate tools to complete repairs and test equipment after service.
• Document work, parts used, and labor time in records.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Assist the OPE parts department as needed.
