Job summary

The Outdoors Alliance for Kids Internship at Sierra Club offers hands-on experience in federal policy and coalition work. You will support the OAK Campaign Manager, engage with partners, and help advance equity-focused outdoor access initiatives at the national level.

This paid, temporary 6‑month internship (15 hours/week, DC-preferred location) provides exposure to advocacy, coalition coordination, and communications across a national environmental organization committed to justice and climate

Qualifications

• Strong written and oral communication abilities.
• Experience with policy research and advocacy desired.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, multi-stakeholder environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and organizational support for the alliance, including meeting notes and file organization.
• Assist in planning and executing virtual and in-person meetings and advocacy events.
• Support partner outreach and update membership databases and contact information.
• Assist in communications content creation for emails, newsletters, and social media.
• Conduct policy research and attend briefings, distributing notes to stakeholders.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
