Job summary

Sierra Club in Washington, DC preferred is seeking an Outdoors Alliance for Kids Intern to support the OAK Campaign with policy research, outreach, events, and coalition coordination. This paid, temporary internship offers hands-on experience in the federal policy process and access to some of the most influential conservation organizations in the US.

The role focuses on operational support, event planning, partner outreach, communications content, and research.

Responsibilities

  • Provides Operational & Organizational Support for the Alliance: attends key meetings, takes notes, maintains files, updates website/resources.
  • Assists in Event Planning for virtual and in-person meetings, including advocacy day logistics.
  • Assists with Partner Outreach to nonprofits, businesses and agencies to support campaigns.
  • Assists with Communications Content creation for emails, newsletters, blog posts, social media and policy letters.
  • Performs policy research and attends briefings/hearings, distributes notes to stakeholders.
  • Performs special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
