Job summary

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is offering a two-year apprenticeship program in Parks and Historic Sites. The role involves custodial services, basic repairs, snow removal, and upkeep of park facilities across state parks, forests, and marinas.

Appointees will advance to Parks and Wildlife Maintenance Specialist 1 upon successful completion, with possible credit for prior related training. The position is strictly on-site and requires a valid NJ driver’s license as needed.

Qualifications

• Open to applicants who meet the requirements below.
• Two-year apprenticeship program with on-site duties and structured training.
• Experience with manual and power tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide custodial services to support patron health and safety.
• Complete major and minor repairs, snow removal, painting and carpentry.
• Maintain roadways and outdoor recreation facilities.
