Job summary

The City of High Point’s Parks & Recreation Department seeks a Park Attendant – Operations to greet visitors, support rentals, manage registrations, and maintain facilities at Penny Rd High Point.

You will work outdoors, provide friendly service, follow OSHA safety standards, and perform custodial duties; starting pay is $15.45 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package including pension, 401K, PTO, holidays, tuition reimbursement, and medical, dental, vision plans.

Qualifications

• Formal Education, which includes basic arithmetic and/or business math.
• Must be comfortable in a customer service role and working in an outdoor setting.
• Must have experience operating a computer.
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Opens facility entrance and greets customers.
• Greets the visiting public and explains the center’s mission, trail system, and purpose.
• Assists visitors in choosing the appropriate trail, if required.
• Answers telephone calls and responds to inquiries.
• Provides support and assistance for rental groups in the facility.
• Processes building rental fees, program registrations, and take payments for scheduled events, trips, classes, and memberships.
• Explains programming, school-visit options, and membership opportunities to the visiting public.
• Maintains facility in a clean and orderly fashion, including emptying trash, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning glass counters, tables, cabinets, and restrooms, and cleaning bait tanks.
• Performs basic clean-up and custodial duties on grounds, facilities, and equipment.
• Picks up litter, lifts and empties trash cans, cleans and replenishes public restrooms when needed.
• Removes leaves, limbs, and debris from facility grounds.
• Must be able to work with limited supervision.
• Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with OSHA and City Safety Standards and Policies.
