Job summary

Spectrum is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our network running from hub sites to customer connections. You will work outside, with on-call responsibilities in all weather, performing maintenance and repair of coax/fiber systems and testing equipment as needed.

In this role you will be active in monitoring signal quality, reporting faults, and coordinating with peer teams to ensure 24/7 coverage for residential and business customers across our service areas.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Experience: Cable experience of at least 1 year.
• Technical Skills: Ability to operate appropriate test equipment, knowledge of basic mathematics and electronics.
• Abilities: Read/write/speak English; communicate effectively; work independently; prioritize and organize; operate test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair the wires that provide internet services from hub sites to connection points outside the customer’s home.
• Monitor and report signal leakages and repairs as required.
• Provide 24/7 coverage, day and night, to keep the network running.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions; no office work.
