Job summary

The City of Newberry is seeking a Maintenance Worker - Part time PW Facilities and Grounds to join the Public Works Department. The role is outdoors year-round, performing maintenance and landscaping tasks with various equipment.

The position starts at $18,720 annually and runs 7am–3pm, Monday to Friday. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 100 pounds, outdoor work, and valid SC ID or driver’s license with the potential to obtain an SC CDL.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Lift/carry up to 100 pounds.
• Work outdoors; meet physical demands.
• Valid SC identification or driver’s license; ability to attain SC Commercial Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Replace street signs as needed.
• Clean and repair storm drains.
• Clean City buildings and/or parking lots.
• Spread dirt and perform painting tasks.
• Maintain the City’s streets year-round; work outdoors.
