Job summary

Carroll Electric Cooperative Corporation is seeking a Line Services Crew Member to support vegetation management and electric operations outdoors. You will clear brush and maintain access to poles and lines while operating vegetation equipment and working with a crew.

This role involves physical outdoor work, on-call responsibilities for outages and storms, and learning electric utility skills. A high school diploma and willingness to learn are required, with CDL eligibility encouraged to pursue.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Dependable, safety-minded, and willing to learn.
• Able to perform physically demanding outdoor work.
• Willing to obtain a Class A CDL.
• Able to walk on steep/uneven terrain.
• Safe with hand tools and learning vegetation equipment.
• Willing to respond to after-hours outages and emergencies.
• Outdoor labor experience helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Clear vegetation from electric rights-of-way.
• Maintain access to poles, lines, and equipment.
• Operate chainsaws, pole saws, brush grinders, tractors, and other veg. equipment.
• Cut, drag, pile, chip, and dispose of brush and debris.
• Work outdoors in wooded/roadside/uneven terrain.
• Rotate into line crews for basic electric work.
• Assist with material handling, site setup, and tool prep.
• Respond to outages after hours and storms.
• Load/unload/transport tools and materials.
• Inspect tools and equipment and report safety concerns.
• Inspect utility poles and maintain tidy work areas.
