Job description

Grand Forks Park District is currently seeking applicants for part-time outdoor lifeguarding positions.

Lifeguards will create an environment of energy, productivity, professionalism and inspire greater health and happiness for every member.

Duties:

Responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies. Lifeguards must recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations. Enforce all facility rules and regulations. Inspect facility on a regular basis and report any unsafe conditions or equipment to pool management. Clean and maintain the guard rooms and locker rooms. Complete records and reports. Participate in regular in-service trainings. Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:
  • Applicants must have lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Swimming lesson experience is preferred to teach swim lessons.
Starting Wage:

$13 / hour

Hours of Work:

25 – 40 hours / week (weather permitting). Occasional evenings and weekends required.

Hours of Operation:

12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Weekdays; 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Saturday. The outdoor pools operate June through August.
