Alpers Excavating, Inc. is seeking laborers to work on a variety of outdoor project sites in Traverse City, MI. The full-time position runs Monday through Friday with significant overtime.

Work involves handwork outdoors in all weather, using company-provided tools and training provided for any unfamiliar tasks. Wages depend on experience and the job site demands. Applicants should be able to work outdoors all day, follow safety rules, and learn new skills.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to work outdoors all day in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to learn and practice new skills.
• Ability to follow safety rules including OSHA/MiOSHA.

Responsibilities

• Arrive to work on-time and wear appropriate clothing for outdoor work.
• Perform labor as directed by the jobsite foreman as part of a team.
• Operate hand tools such as shovel, hammer, laser level, and tape measure.
• Operate power tools such as concrete saw, jackhammer, compactor, chainsaw, and backpack blower.
• Operate company vehicles like pickup trucks and vans.
• Follow safe working practices including PPE and instruction adherence.
