Job summary

Augment in Mount Laurel, NJ is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator - Sanitation to support daily sanitation operations by safely operating heavy machinery to move, load, and manage waste and recyclables. The ideal candidate has experience with heavy equipment, is safety-minded, reliable, and able to work outdoors.

This role offers weekly pay and varies by site; schedule typically Monday–Friday, early morning hours. Physical work up to 50 lbs, outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• Previous heavy equipment operating experience required—experience in landfill, transfer station, or recycling environments strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of equipment safety procedures and safe operation around personnel and vehicles.
• Strong work ethic with consistent reliability and punctuality.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate loaders, dozers, excavators, skid steers, compactors, and related machinery.
• Safely move, push, load, and spread waste and recyclable materials.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Follow OSHA and site safety protocols, including proper PPE usage.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas (tipping floor, landfill, transfer station).
• Assist with general labor tasks, site cleanup and material handling.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to maintain efficient operations.
• Participate in recurring safety meetings and required training sessions.
