Job summary

Quality Counts (QC) is hiring a Traffic Field Technician to support transportation projects across Pomona, Los Angeles, and southern California. This is a hands-on, outdoors-focused role requiring reliability, physical endurance, and independent field work with occasional travel to other sites.

The position offers a variable part-time schedule (about 10-15 hrs/week in slow seasons and 30+ hours with overtime in peak seasons) and a company vehicle for travel to sites.

Qualifications

• Has relevant labor, field, construction, installation, maintenance, or hands-on work experience.
• Enjoys physical work and being outdoors and on the move.
• Able to commit to a variable part-time schedule ( approx. 10-15 hrs/week in slow seasons and 30+ hrs with overtime in peak seasons ).
• Can commit to limited time off during May and October, the two busiest field seasons.
• Reliable commute to Pomona, CA; starts daily from the office/warehouse before heading to field sites.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders (~15 feet) and safely operate power tools.
• Work independently with initiative and good problem-solving when plans change.

Responsibilities

• Drive across So-Cal installing and retrieving traffic data collection equipment.
• Perform moderate physical labor, including installing video detection cameras and pneumatic road tubes.
• Work independently in the field while following project instructions, safety procedures, and deadlines.
• Occasionally join teammates in nearby communities to conduct traffic surveys and parking studies.
• Travel locally and, when opportunities arise, to projects in other parts of the country.
