Job summary

LaPlaya Beach Resort is seeking an Outdoor Food and Beverage Manager to lead our poolside, beachfront, and bar services in a luxury resort setting on the Gulf Coast of Florida. You will drive guest satisfaction through expert operations, staffing, and cost controls, while collaborating with culinary and events teams to deliver memorable experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all outdoor food and beverage operations, including poolside, beachfront, and bar services, ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
• Direct daily operations by managing service execution, staffing, guest satisfaction, food and beverage quality, cleanliness, and safety across all outdoor venues.
• Drive revenue growth and profitability through strategic sales initiatives, labor management, inventory controls, cost containment, and scheduling.
• Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and develop team members while fostering accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and service excellence.
• Create and communicate staffing schedules to ensure coverage while maintaining labor costs within budget.

Requirements

• Lead and oversee all outdoor food and beverage operations, including poolside, beachfront, and bar services, ensuring exceptional guest and member experiences that reflect the resort's luxury hospitality standards.
• Direct daily operations by managing service execution, staffing, guest satisfaction, food and beverage quality, cleanliness, and safety standards across all outdoor venues.
• Drive revenue growth and profitability through strategic sales initiatives, labor management, inventory controls, cost containment, and effective scheduling practices.
• Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and develop team members while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and service excellence.
• Create, manage, and communicate staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage while maintaining labor costs within budgeted guidelines.
• Monitor inventory levels, purchasing, receiving, and product usage to ensure proper controls, minimize waste, and support financial objectives.
• Establish, maintain, and continuously improve service standards, ensuring all food and beverage offerings are delivered in accordance with company expectations and brand standards.
• Build strong relationships with guests and members by anticipating needs, providing personalized service, and resolving concerns promptly and professionally.
• Collaborate closely with Culinary, Resort Operations, Events, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of daily operations and special programs.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, health and sanitation regulations, liquor licensing requirements, cash handling procedures, and workplace safety standards.
• Protect company assets through proper inventory management, equipment oversight, key control, and adherence to operational procedures.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings, communicate departmental goals and expectations, and provide ongoing performance feedback to drive individual and team success.
• Lead by example through a visible management presence, demonstrating professionalism, positive leadership, and a commitment to exceptional hospitality.
• Maintain flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods as required by operational needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of food and beverage management experience, preferably in a resort environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and financial management skills.
• Knowledge of POS systems, inventory controls, and labor management.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work extended hours during peak business periods.
