Job summary

Iowa State University is seeking an Equipment Operator to join Facilities Planning & Management. You will operate heavy equipment for grounds maintenance, snow removal, landscaping, and road work to keep campus facilities in top condition.

The role requires at least two years of relevant equipment operating experience and a valid CDL. You’ll perform routine inspections, repair basic issues, and support emergency response and event setups across campus.

Qualifications

• Two years of related equipment operating experience.
• Possession of a valid Chauffeur’s or Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment for grounds maintenance and roads.
• Perform snow and ice removal during winter.
• Conduct landscaping tasks including mowing and planting.
• Assist in construction and maintenance of roads and parking areas.
• Clear debris and obstructions; install and repair utilities.
• Inspect and perform minor repairs on equipment.
• Maintain records of work performed and materials used.
• Support event setups and emergency response as needed.
