Job summary

NatureBridge in Sausalito, CA, seeks Environmental Science Educators to deliver multi-day programs in outdoor settings. You will lead student-centered experiences, connect learning to real-world contexts, and collaborate with peers to create inclusive, engaging lessons.

The role requires at least 1 year of teaching, strong communication, a commitment to equity, and the ability to work outdoors, including evenings.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of relevant teaching experience.
• Strong social and emotional skills to connect with diverse groups.
• Commitment to equity and inclusion within teaching and workplace.
• Clear communication with students, coworkers, and partners.
• Wilderness First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain it prior to start date.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather and hike 5–7 miles.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-day, student-centered outdoor environmental science programs.
• Facilitate inclusive, culturally relevant instruction.
• Engage students in scientific practices through hands-on investigations.
• Follow risk management policies and document first aid as needed.
• Design and lead evening programs or assist presenters, typically twice weekly.
• Assess and document student learning; contribute to program reflection and improvement.
• Attend staff meetings and complete required paperwork.
• Maintain gear and support campus stewardship.
• Contribute to fundraising by sharing field stories.
