University of Maine Cooperative Extension is seeking a Temporary Outdoor Educator for Bryant Pond 4-H Learning Center in Maine. You will lead youth in environmental education, canoe trips, and campfire activities as part of the Lakeside Classroom program.

On-site housing is provided during the season, with paid training and a focus on safety and group dynamics. The role runs roughly from spring through fall, with a five-day work week and occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience collaborating in a team to support youth programs.
• Ability to lead long days in outdoor settings with high energy.
• Genuine motivation to work with children in outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support environmental and outdoor learning programs for youth.
• Deliver hands-on nature-based and group-building lessons.
• Assist with facility upkeep, office tasks, and program planning.
