Job summary

Emerald Necklace Conservancy is seeking an Outdoor Education Manager to design and implement outdoor education programs for adults, families, children, and schools across the Emerald Necklace parks in Metro Boston. You will lead the Green Team, Canopy Classroom, and Family Nature Connection initiatives, aligning with diversity, equity and inclusion goals.

In collaboration with the Director of Education, you will manage partnerships, oversee staff, and ensure safe, engaging learning experiences

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
• 2+ years of experience managing/outdoor education programs.
• Experience supervising staff.
• Major in recreation, outdoor education, education, environmental studies, earth science, or biology preferred.
• Commitment to inclusive learning environments and cultural competence.

Responsibilities

• Lead logistics, scheduling, facilitation, coordination and registration for Summer Green Team Program.
• Hire program participants and supervise staff.
• Train and supervise all program staff and manage staff communications.
• Ensure curriculum is followed and risk management protocols are followed.
• Develop education strategies for Metro Boston audiences aligned with the conservancy's goals.
• Oversee Canopy Classroom and Family Nature Connection program logistics and staff, including permits and supplies management.
• Support the Director of Education and maintain staff paperwork and site standards.
