Job summary

State of South Dakota invites applications for a Naturalist Intern in Sioux Falls. You will lead and assist education staff with outdoor skills programming (hunting, fishing, trapping) and support our Hunting 101 and nature-based programs for audiences from youth to adults.

Applicants must be enrolled as a part-time or full-time student, with at least one year completed by start. Preference given to SD residents and students of SD institutions; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply.
• By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
• All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
• Positions can be filled prior to the closing date.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist education staff with outdoor skills programming (hunting, fishing, trapping).
• Support Hunting 101 programs and nature-based activities for youth and adults.
• Assist in taking participants out hunting as part of Hunting 101; training is provided.
