Job summary

Missouri Botanical Garden seeks an instructor to help develop, deliver, and guide Outdoor Youth Corps and Outdoor Leadership Corps programs. You will lead hands-on stewardship projects and outdoor experiences for youth, connect learning to plants and sustainability, and support program operations across multiple Garden sites.

You will collaborate with partners, mentor students, and help ensure safety, inclusivity, and career readiness while expanding program reach in the St. Louis area.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years in student teaching or outdoor instruction.
• Experience in conservation, invasive species removal, and native planting.
• Knowledge of environmental education, outdoor recreation and conservation.
• Knowledge of native plants and landscape maintenance techniques.
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, Ecology, or related outdoor field.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or to be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, delivering, and evaluating Outdoor Youth Corps and Outdoor Leadership Corps programs.
• Deliver environmental education lessons, activities, and stewardship projects.
• Support Community Programs team with preparation and delivery of community programs.
• Collaborate with partners to ensure effective instruction and learning outcomes.
• Maintain safe, inclusive learning environments and assist with data collection for reports.
