Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking a General Laborer to support concrete and civil construction operations on-site in Clyde, NC. The role involves physically demanding outdoor work, using tools, and joining a crew focused on building critical infrastructure.

Candidates with farming or agricultural backgrounds are encouraged, as the job requires lifting, bending, kneeling, and prolonged standing in varying weather. Day or night shifts, including Saturdays, may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, concrete, farming, ranching, or agricultural work preferred.
• Able to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather.
• Able to lift, carry, bend, kneel, climb, and stand for long periods.
• Willingness to work day or night shifts, including Saturdays if required.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with concrete operations including forming, pouring, finishing, and cleanup.
• Perform general labor tasks such as shoveling, lifting, carrying materials, and site cleanup.
• Operate hand tools and small equipment as directed.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe jobsite.
• Work collaboratively with foremen, operators, and crew members.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support project needs.
