Job summary

The City of Oakland is seeking part-time Van Drivers for the Parks, Recreation & Youth Development Department (OPRYD). Responsibilities include transporting participants, performing pre-trip inspections, and maintaining vehicle safety.

Qualifications

• Current Class B California Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement.
• DMV printout for last 3 years must be attached to application.
• At least 1 year of driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate city vehicles (26,000+ lbs GVWR and buses/vans with 10+ passengers).
• Pick up and drop off program participants at sites and centers.
• Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and regular maintenance checks.
• Clean, maintain, and transport city vehicles and equipment.
• Plan and organize routes for trips, excursions, and tours.
• Report incidents and prepare damage claims as required.
• Load and unload department supplies and equipment at various sites.
