Job summary

Penn State University is seeking a facilities assistant to support daily operations of athletic and recreational facilities outdoors. You will monitor activity areas, enforce rules, and report maintenance issues to your supervisor.

The role requires working outside in extreme heat or cold and adhering to safety guidelines. Successful candidates must complete state and FBI background checks as part of the process and comply with campus safety policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in extreme heat and cold.
• Ability to pass PA background checks (state police, child abuse history, FBI fingerprint).
• Commitment to safety and facility guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily operations of athletic/recreational facilities and/or activities.
• Enforce rules and regulations of athletic/recreational facilities and/or activities.
• Monitor areas such as fitness centers.
• Track facility and equipment usage; document and report maintenance problems, unusual conditions, and damages to the supervisor.
• Adhere to safe and appropriate use of all equipment and modalities within established guidelines.
