Job summary

Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions is seeking a full-time Facility Operator at our Halstead, KS facility. The ideal candidate enjoys outdoor work in all weather and supports production, quality, and safety initiatives.

Responsibilities include assisting with lab tests, data entry, loading/unloading, and basic equipment maintenance. A high school diploma, basic math skills, and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Proficiency in Excel is preferred and useful for data entry.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and safety protocols.
• Basic math skills are needed for measurement and batch checks.
• Must be able to learn computer skills and operate plant systems.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing tanks.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to work varied shifts.
• Outdoor work in all seasons and weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with lab testing of products and input batch data.
• Load and unload trucks and railcars and conduct product sampling.
• Perform minor equipment maintenance and ensure safety housekeeping.
• Attend daily production/quality/EHS meetings and follow PPE rules.
• Communicate effectively with operators, management, and customers.
