Job summary

Globalclassifieds in New York runs an outdoor after-school adventure program in Central Park and seeks part-time assistant instructors for weekday hours. You will support groups of children aged 5-10, help deliver activities, and ensure safety during 2-hour shifts from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Starting as an assistant to an experienced staff member, you will receive content and materials, with opportunities to continue through December and ideally through June, beginning September 8.

Qualifications

• Past experience leading groups of children (ages 5-10) is preferred.
• Outdoor/ Central Park knowledge is a plus.
• Must be available for 2-hour shifts 2:30–5:30 pm, on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of participating children.
• Energetically present and carry out daily activities.
• Encourage and communicate with children, school staff and parents.
• Serve as a positive adult role model.
• Be punctual and reliable; lateness results in dismissal.
• Hike and stay active outdoors for ~2 hours per shift.
• Collaborate with staff to deliver engaging experiences.
