Job summary

Classifieds24 is seeking part-time assistant instructors for an after-school outdoor program in Central Park. You will help lead activities for children aged 5-10, under the supervision of experienced staff.

Expect roughly two-hour shifts between 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., with commitments through December and ideally through June. Prior outdoor experience and enthusiasm for outdoor education are highly valued.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience leading or working with children ages 5–10.
• Outdoor educational experience is a plus; Central Park familiarity is helpful.
• Must be available for approximately 2-hour shifts 2:30–5:30 p.m. through December.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the safety of the participating children.
• Enthusiastically providing, energetically presenting and excitedly carrying out the day's goal and/or activity.
• Communicating encouragement to participating children and respectfully with school staff and parents.
• Serving as a positive adult role model.
• Being accountable, including arriving on time, all the time. Lateness cannot be tolerated and will result in immediate dismissal.
• Hiking and being physically active outdoors, on all types of surfaces, in all types of weather, for an average of two hours/shift.
• Exhibiting willingness and ability to execute program's content according to company standards.
• Collaborating with other staff members to make every experience awesome.
