Job summary

Biltmore Estate is seeking an Outdoor Adventure Center Guide II to provide guidance in outdoor recreational programming for guests visiting the estate. You will lead raft trips, bike rides, archery, and other activities, and assist with group programming and events.

Responsibilities include training junior guides, assisting guests with planning and cross-selling activities, and supporting the OAC management team with administrative duties as needed. Flex: approx.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and experience in outdoor program leadership.
• At least one year of experience as an Outdoor Adventure Center Guide I or equivalent.
• Experience leading interpretive activities and outdoor activities.
• Excellent guest service and communication skills, including public speaking.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Biltmore products, services, and estate history.
• Must have a valid NC driver’s license.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays.
• Current certification in First Aid and CPR.

Responsibilities

• Guide guests on outdoor outings such as biking, rafting, kayaking, and hiking.
• Assist guests with information, rental equipment, and trail map orientation.
• Load equipment on/off vans and trailers and drive a 15-passenger vehicle.
• Maintain bikes, rafts, paddles, and other equipment.
• Assist with developing and delivering specialty programs to large groups.
• Train guides on skills and programs.
• Support events and planning across the estate.
