Job summary

US1074 Newport Meat Southern California, Inc. is seeking a warehouse associate to accurately select products in the warehouse and prepare them for shipping.

You will read orders from a label screen, pick by slot and description, and assemble customer orders on pallets in the proper sequence. We require the ability to lift up to 100 lbs, operate an electric pallet jack, and maintain GMP and SQF compliance while keeping the facility clean and safe.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 0-1 year relevant work experience.
• Frequently lift 10–75 lb and up to 100 lb.
• Frequent reach up to 72 inches.
• Work in extreme temperatures and stand 10–12 hours daily.

Responsibilities

• Read customer orders from label screen and select product by slot and description.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place on pallets in the proper sequence.
• Attach labels on product.
• Operate an electric pallet jack to move to the correct slot location and transport to dock for staging.
• Handle products with care and report any damage.
• Perform daily equipment checks.
• Assist in facility clean-up and sign off on daily cleaning tasks.
• Sign in/out for all equipment used.
• Follow GMP, personal hygiene, and SQF procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, the associate will accurately and efficiently select products in the warehouse. Prepare products for shipping by stacking in an orderly and stable configuration, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Read customer order from label screen and select product by slot and description.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets in the proper sequence.
• Attach labels on product.
• Properly operate an electric pallet jack (2-pallet length) to proceed to correct slot location, and transport product to dock area for staging.
• Handle products with the necessary care.
• Report any damage of merchandise, equipment or facility to a supervisor.
• Perform daily equipment checks.
• Assist in the clean-up of the facility and sign off on the daily cleaning area that the supervisor may assign.
• Sign in and out for all equipment when used.
• Use basic communication skills to understand work systems, instructions, etc.
• Adhere to all applicable GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), personal hygiene, and SQF (Safe Quality Food) policies and procedures as described in the European Imports - Sysco Food Safety Training Manual.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 0 - 1 Year relevant work experience.
• Frequently lift product that weighs 10lb - 75lbs and up to 100lbs.
• Frequently reach up to 72 inches.
• Constantly bend and twist while operating an electric pallet jack or forklift, retrieving products from lower shelf areas.
• Work in very extreme temperatures (cooler and/or freezer).
• Work on your feet for 10 - 12 hours daily.

Preferred Requirements

• 1 year experience operating an electric pallet jack or forklift.
• 1 year of warehouse, military, or physically active job experience.
• 1 year Selection Experience.
• 2 years consistent work history preferred.
