Job summary

Altom Transport is seeking an Owner Operator Driver to join our team. You will be a business owner with responsibility for safe, compliant transport of bulk chemicals and petroleum products using tank trailers.

Qualified candidates hold a CDL A, tanker endorsement, Hazmat preferred, and a clean MVR. Expect a high degree of independence, flexibility, and revenue potential with support from a family-owned company. 24/7 operations may be required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL Class A license.
• Hazmat endorsement preferred; required within 90 days of hire if not yet held.
• Tanker endorsement required or must obtain after hire; assistance available.
• TWIC card preferred or obtainable post-hire.
• Minimum 1 year verifiable tanker driving experience.
• Clean MVR and strong safety record; able to pass DOT physical and drug screening.
• Dependable, safety-minded and able to work independently.
• Willing to work flexible schedules including 24/7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Safe transportation of chemical and petroleum products using tank trailers.
• Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and hazmat rules.
• Equipment maintenance and ensuring trucks meet inspection standards.
• Loading/unloading at loading and delivery points with ISO/Flexi-Bag or tanker ops.
• Accurate logs, paperwork submission and Hazmat documentation.
• Represent Altom Transport professionally at customer sites.
• Manage fuel purchases, trip planning and scheduling to maximize revenue.
• Contribute to steady workload by meeting mileage or hour requirements.
• Be available 24/7 when needed.

Responsibilities

As an Owner Operator Driver with Altom Transport, you are more than just a driver—you are a business owner and a critical partner in our operation. Your role includes:

• Safe Transportation: Hauling chemical and petroleum products using tank trailers while adhering to DOT regulations.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring your truck meets all inspection standards and remains in top condition for long haul success.
• Loading & Unloading: Following proper procedures for ISO/Flexi-Bag or Tanker operations at loading and delivery points.
• Compliance & Documentation: Maintaining accurate logs, submitting necessary paperwork, and adhering to Hazmat regulations.
• Customer Service: Representing Altom Transport professionally at all customer locations.
• Business Management: Managing fuel purchases, trip planning, and scheduling to maximize revenue.
• Maintain a steady workload by meeting mileage or hour requirements to contribute to the overall success of the operation.
• 24/7 Operation – Willingness to be available 24/7 when needed.
