Job summary

Altom Transport is seeking an Owner Operator Driver to join our family-owned team. You will act as a business owner, hauling chemical and petroleum products in tank trailers while meeting DOT regulations and maintaining equipment.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, logs, Hazmat compliance, and direct customer service. You will manage fuel, trips, and schedules to maximize revenue, with 24/7 availability as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license is required.
• Tanker Endorsement (N) required; Hazmat Endorsement (H) preferred (must obtain within 90 days).
• TWIC card preferred (or obtained after hire).
• Minimum 1 year verifiable tanker driving experience.
• Must be at least 23 years old.
• Clean MVR and strong safety record.
• Able to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check.
• Dependable, safety-minded, and able to work independently.
• Willing to work flexible schedules, including 24/7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Hauling chemical and petroleum products using tank trailers while complying with DOT regulations.
• Ensure truck meets inspection standards and remains in top condition for long-haul.
• Loading and unloading at loading/delivery points with ISO/Flexi-Bag or Tanker procedures.
• Maintain logs and paperwork; adhere to Hazmat regulations.
• Represent Altom Transport professionally at customer locations.
• Manage fuel purchases, trip planning, and scheduling to maximize revenue.
• Meet mileage or hourly targets to sustain operation.
• Be available for 24/7 operations as needed.

• Business Management: Managing fuel purchases, trip planning, and scheduling to maximize revenue.
• Maintain a steady workload by meeting mileage or hour requirements to contribute to the overall success of the operation.
• 24/7 Operation – Willingness to be available 24/7 when needed.
