Job summary

PepsiCo in Lynchburg, VA is hiring a full‑time driver to safely operate a tractor/trailer and deliver products to local stores. You will load, unload, log, and communicate with dispatch throughout variable schedules that may exceed standard hours.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Holds a valid Class A commercial driver's license.
• Have at least 100,000 verifiable accident-free miles or more than 2,500 accident-free hours.
• Willing to work holidays and weekends.
• Ability to lift 15 to 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and handle products with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time, up to five hours daily, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work up to 14 hours a day and drive a tractor trailer for extended periods, up to 11 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a tractor/trailer and transport products in compliance with regulations.
• Load and unload trailers, using manual or palletized methods.
• Transport chips, dips, and more to large grocery stores and facilities.
• Obtain signatures, complete logs and paperwork, review invoices and manifests.
• Use an electronic logging device and perform pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with customers, sales drivers, and dispatch throughout the day or night.

What You’ll Do

• Safely operate a tractor/trailer and transport products to and from specified destinations in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Load and unload trailers, which may include manual loading, palletized loading/unloading, use of a two-wheeler, and lifting product overhead
• Transport chips, dips, and more to large grocery stores, Frito-Lay manufacturing facilities, rural storage units, and other traffic centers
• Obtain signatures of receipt, pick up returns, complete logs and paperwork related to deliveries, and review invoices and/or manifests
• Use an electronic logging device, such as a tablet or onboard computer, and complete pre- and post-trip truck inspections
• Communicate with customers, sales drivers, and dispatch throughout the day or night
