Job summary

Scotts Miracle-Gro is seeking an hourly yard attendant to move drop trailers, coordinate with shipping and receiving, and keep the yard running smoothly. You will handle trailer moves, secure trailers, perform safety checks, and assist forklift drivers.

• Move all drop trailers in and out of dock door locations in conjunction with shipping and receiving instructions.
• Move product and trailers across the warehouse lot to different destinations.
• Secure trailers in place using wheel chocks and locking systems.
• Conduct safety checks prior to forklift drivers entering a trailer.
• Open and close trailer doors and assist Forklift Drivers as needed.
• Maintain and update relevant paperwork and conduct daily safety audits of the yard.
• Report and hazards and work with facility leadership on continuous improvement projects.
• Assist third party Drivers by coordinating the movement of trucks within the yard.

This hourly role follows the Scotts/Hawthorne step pay progression scale and typically starts at $26.05 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

In this role you will:
