Job description

$50,000+ yearly with additional per route and stop bonuses.

Schedule: 2 to 4 workdays per week
Home on weekends.

Regions: Regular route in New England and Mid-Atlantic as well as periodic trips to Indiana.

Overall Responsibilities: Responsible for safely operating an over-the-road tractor trailer at all times and delivering product to a specified route on time in a professional manner. Safely operates and maintains company vehicle in compliance with all company, Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Inspect vehicles prior to, during, and after each day’s assignment.
2. Maintain a high level of cleanliness of the vehicle's interior and exterior.
3. Inspect each product load to assure the load is secure, correct product count, and non-defective/damaged product shipment.
4. Unload or assist customers in the unloading of product from the trailer.
5. Ability to lift and move 100lbs or more required while unloading.
6. Accurately report any and all trip problems and deficiencies.
7. Check in daily with Transportation Manager to discuss problems and delivery changes.
8. Accurately maintain and complete all trip reports, including driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs) and daily e-logs.
9. Immediately report any and all traffic accidents, injuries, inspections, and infractions to the Transportation Manager.
10. Follow all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in accordance with State and Federal law. Comply with all safety and company rules and regulations.
11. Regular overnight travel required.
12. Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (in good standing).
13. Obtain all required paperwork and collect necessary signatures related to deliveries (including product returns), and return all completed paperwork to the Transportation Manager after returning from route.
14. Other duties as assigned or needed by the Transportation Manager.

Minimum Position Requirements:

1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
2. Valid Commercial Class A Driver's License.
3. Requires a high degree of attention, skill, and dexterity in the control of tractor-trailer and in preventing damage to materials and trailer equipment.
4. Must meet DOT physical and medical requirements, as a safety-sensitive employee, and be subject to DOT random substance abuse testing.

Backing Requirements: On Dealer lots with other vehicles, signs, trees, sheds, etc.
