Job summary

Quaker Windows & Doors is seeking a safety-focused On the Road Driver to safely operate a semi-truck and trailer, transport windows and doors, and assist with unloading at customer locations across the United States. You will maintain logs, follow regulations, and communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.

Drivers are home most weekends, with 1–4 trips per week, departing Sunday or Monday and occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
• No more than 2 chargeable or preventable motor vehicle accidents within the past 5 years.
• No more than 3 violations of motor vehicle laws (excluding parking) within the past 2 years.
• No convictions of any offense involving operation of a motor vehicle while impaired within the past 5 years.
• Must be able to use navigation tools.
• Minimum 2 years verifiable driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive truck and trailer on all public roads and at customer locations.
• Maintain electronic logs of working hours and daily vehicle inspections.
• Ensure cargo is properly secured before and during trips.
• Complete load-related documentation such as proofs of delivery.
• Operate electronic devices like ELD, GPS, barcode scanners.
• Communicate with customers, suppliers, and co-workers professionally.
• Assist in unloading and preparing products for delivery as needed.
• Handle large windows and doors safely during loading/unloading.
• Adhere to safety policies and safe driving laws.
• Maintain records for regulatory compliance including CDL and DOT medical card.
• Inspect equipment and complete maintenance work orders as needed.
• Plan, prioritize, and monitor delivery activities.
