Job Description

Position Summary: This position is responsible for ensuring proper pickup and delivery of Tyson products. Driver must live in a defined hiring area. Must be willing to run all 48 states and drive various hours and days of the night. Need to be able to deliver to all Tyson Locations and Tyson Customer Locations per their requirements. Drivers must be compliant with all regulations stated in Section 391.11 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Regulations Book.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Regularly open a CMV's hood, open/shut trailer doors, and operate landing gear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must recognize audible alerts from industrial power equipment and vehicles.

Environment: Work on wet, slippery surfaces and in hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments.

Personal Protective Equipment: Hearing protection as needed. Reflective vests and closed-toed shoes when outside your truck.

Safety: Follow all safety policies and procedures. Identify, address, and mitigate safety risks. Training provided on safety procedures.

Job Requirements

Applicant must pass a DOT urine test and hair follicle test.

Minimum Qualifications for Company Long Haul Division Driver:

  • Verifiable CDL A Tractor Trailer experience: 9 months within the last 12 months, or 12 months within the last 3 years.
  • No preventable accidents resulting in a fatality or rollover within the last 3 years.
  • No DUI, DWI, or OUI in a commercial motor vehicle or in the last 8 years.
  • No positive DOT drug/alcohol tests in the last 3 years.
  • Cannot exceed 8 driving jobs in the last 3 years.
  • Maximum of 3 terminations from Tyson Foods, Inc.
