Position Summary: This position is responsible for ensuring proper pickup and delivery of Tyson products. Drivers must live in a defined hiring area and be willing to operate across all 48 states, including various hours and night shifts. The role requires delivery to all Tyson locations and customer sites per their requirements. Drivers must comply with all regulations in Section 391.11 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Regulations.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Must use safe lifting techniques, regularly open CMV hoods, trailer doors, and operate landing gear. Employees are required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, balance, stoop, and communicate effectively. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to recognize audible alerts. Work environments include wet, slippery, hot, dry, dusty, and cold conditions. Personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, reflective vests, and closed-toe shoes are used as needed.
Safety: Employees are expected to follow all safety policies, identify, address, and mitigate risks, and undergo training to recognize and comply with safety procedures.
Applicants must pass a DOT urine and hair follicle test.
Minimum Qualifications: Verifiable CDL A tractor-trailer experience (9 months in the last 12 months or 12 months in the last 3 years). A clean driving record with no preventable accidents, DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions in specified periods. No positive DOT drug or alcohol tests in the last 3 years. No more than 8 driving jobs in the last 3 years and a maximum of 3 terminations from Tyson Foods.
