Job summary

BWT Logistics is seeking an experienced OTR Driver to safely transport goods across long distances in the United States. You will operate heavy-duty tractors and trailers, plan routes, and coordinate with dispatch to meet delivery deadlines, while maintaining DOT compliance.

The role requires a CDL Class A and 3+ years of verifiable OTR experience, with a focus on safe driving, accurate logging, and efficient, professional service. Expect multi-day trips and adherence to all regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A with appropriate endorsements.
• 3+ years verifiable OTR driving experience.
• Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years.
• Ability to pass DOT physical examination and drug screening.
• Knowledge of Hours of Service (HOS) rules.
• Excellent understanding of safe driving practices and defensive driving techniques.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet delivery deadlines while adhering to strict hours-of-service limitations.
• Physical stamina to perform duties, including lifting, climbing, and long periods of sitting.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial motor vehicles (tractor trailer) to transport goods over long distances.
• Plan routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing fuel efficiency.
• This role may involve traveling for several days or weeks.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Maintain accurate logs of working hours and delivery records per DOT regulations.
• Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and other stakeholders to provide updates.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies.
• Manage loading and unloading of cargo; may use forklifts or other equipment.
• Report any mechanical issues or accidents promptly to appropriate personnel.
• Securely load and unload cargo to prevent damage; may involve operating material handling equipment.
