Job description

Otolaryngologist (ENT) - Private Practice Employment Opportunity

Employed Position | Future Shareholder Pathway | Surgery Center Participation Opportunity

Sequoia | Bakersfield, California

Sequoia is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Otolaryngologist (ENT) to join our organization as an employed physician and help establish and grow a new ENT practice in Bakersfield, California.

This is a unique opportunity for a physician who values the stability and support of employment today while seeking the potential for greater professional and financial participation in the future. The incoming physician will have the opportunity to help shape a new ENT practice while benefiting from the infrastructure, operational experience, and established healthcare relationships of a successful specialty medical organization.

The position will begin as an employed physician role, with the opportunity to pursue a pathway to shareholder status based upon eligibility criteria and mutual long-term fit. Eligible physicians may also have the opportunity for future participation in an affiliated ambulatory surgery center.

Our goal is to develop a premier ENT practice serving Bakersfield and the greater Central California region-and to create a long-term professional home for physicians who want to grow with it.

The Opportunity

The incoming physician will join Sequoia as an employed physician with significant support in developing a successful clinical practice.

The opportunity includes:

  • Employed physician position with competitive compensation and growth potential
  • Pathway to future shareholder status
  • Potential future participation in an affiliated ambulatory surgery center
  • Opportunity to help develop and grow a new ENT practice
  • Private-practice environment with administrative and operational support
  • Support for development of subspecialty interests
  • Opportunity to develop a broad general ENT practice or incorporate a focused area of expertise
  • Established relationships within the Bakersfield medical community
  • Practice management, contracting, credentialing, billing, and administrative support
  • Opportunity to participate in the recruitment and development of additional physicians and advanced practice providers as the practice grows
  • Ability to contribute to the long-term direction of the ENT service line

Employment Today. Opportunity for Ownership Tomorrow.

We believe physicians should have the opportunity to grow professionally and financially alongside the organization they help build.

The successful candidate will initially join Sequoia as an employee, allowing the physician to establish their practice, develop relationships within the community, and determine whether Sequoia is the right long-term professional fit.

As the relationship develops, qualifying physicians may have the opportunity to pursue shareholder status within the organization. Future surgery center participation may also be available to eligible physicians, subject to applicable requirements and separate terms.

This structure provides the security and infrastructure of an employed position at the outset while creating a potential path toward greater long-term participation in the organization.

Build the Practice You Want

Sequoia will provide the operational foundation while giving the physician meaningful opportunity to help shape the clinical practice.

We welcome candidates interested in comprehensive otolaryngology as well as physicians with subspecialty interests. Depending upon the physician's goals and the needs of the community, there may be opportunities to develop focused programs in areas such as otology/neurotology, rhinology and sinus surgery, head and neck surgery, laryngology, sleep surgery, facial plastics, or other areas of otolaryngology.

Why Bakersfield?

Bakersfield offers an attractive environment for physicians interested in developing a busy specialty practice in California.

As a major healthcare center for Kern County and the surrounding Central California region, Bakersfield serves a substantial patient population while offering many of the lifestyle advantages of a midsized community.

Physicians can enjoy California living without the congestion and cost associated with many of the state's largest metropolitan areas. Bakersfield also provides convenient access to Los Angeles, the Central Coast, the Sierra Nevada mountains, Sequoia National Park, and many of California's premier recreational destinations.

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates should be:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery
  • Eligible for medical licensure in California
  • Committed to high-quality, patient-centered care
  • Interested in helping develop and grow a new ENT practice
  • Interested in establishing a long-term professional presence in the region

Experienced physicians, fellows, and residents approaching completion of training are encouraged to apply.

Physicians with an entrepreneurial mindset and an interest in private practice, leadership, future shareholder opportunities, surgery center participation, and long-term professional growth are particularly encouraged to contact us.

Join as a Physician. Grow as a Partner.

If you are looking for the support and stability of an employed position today with the opportunity to build toward greater professional and financial participation in the future, we would like to hear from you.
