Job summary

NV Energy is seeking a skilled IT Systems Specialist to maintain and support OS environments (Mainframe, Windows, UNIX) and related applications. The role focuses on OT in Linux environments and supports project delivery and ongoing OT initiatives.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in information systems or related field, or equivalent experience, plus several years of OS support experience and strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of five years related experience in Mainframe, Windows or UNIX operating systems support and analysis.
• Strong communication, analytical and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for Mainframe, Windows or UNIX environments including OS and application software installations and upgrades.
• Advise on workflow plans and procedures; monitor OS performance and implement improvements.
• Ensure information systems assets are secure; evaluate security requirements and implement controls.
• Provide documentation for IT processes and participate in system administration software/hardware research and implementation.
