OT Systems Analyst (Full Time, Long-Term Contract;Hybrid in St. Petersburg, FL)

Optomi, in partnership with one of our clients, is seeking an OT Systems Analyst to support critical grid operations and operational technology systems within a Distribution Control Center environment. This role will be responsible for supporting the operational health, reliability, and availability of SCADA, ADMS, and other grid-related applications through system monitoring, production troubleshooting, incident response, and ongoing system improvements. The OT Systems Analyst will work closely with control center personnel, business stakeholders, infrastructure, cybersecurity, telecommunications, vendors, and support teams to resolve complex technical issues and minimize operational impact. This individual will also support software upgrades, testing, release validation, system integrations, and modernization initiatives while serving as a technical resource for OT systems and their downstream dependencies. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience supporting utility‑scale OT or grid management systems, strong production support and incident management skills, and the ability to operate independently in a highly available, business‑critical environment. Success in this role requires strong technical judgment, cross‑functional communication, and the ability to maintain operational readiness during major incidents, severe weather, and emergency restoration events.

Responsibilities:

• Support SCADA & ADMS systems – Serve as a key technical resource supporting the reliability and availability of critical grid/OT applications.


• Monitor system health – Proactively monitor application performance, infrastructure, and operational dashboards to identify issues before they impact grid operations.


• Troubleshoot production incidents – Lead troubleshooting of complex production issues and restore service quickly to minimize operational impact.


• Coordinate across technical teams – Work with infrastructure, cybersecurity, telecom, vendors, DCC operators, and other support teams during incidents and system changes.


• Support upgrades & releases – Participate in the planning, testing, validation, and deployment of SCADA/ADMS enhancements, upgrades, and releases.


• Serve as the OT technical SME – Maintain strong knowledge of SCADA/ADMS architecture, integrations, operational workflows, and downstream dependencies and act as a technical partner to the DCC.


• Support storm & emergency readiness – Participate in storm preparation, operational drills, on-call/emergency response, and extended support during hurricanes or major restoration events.

• Utility Operational Technology (OT) – Experience supporting critical OT systems within an electric utility / power distribution environment.


• SCADA / ADMS / OMS / EMS – Hands‑on experience supporting SCADA, ADMS, OMS, EMS, or similar grid-control applications.


• Distribution Control Center / Grid Operations – Experience working directly with DCC operators, system operators, dispatchers, or other real‑time operations teams.


• Production Support & Troubleshooting – Strong experience troubleshooting complex, highly available production systems, monitoring system health, and resolving critical incidents.


• Incident & Problem Management – Experience leading/coordinating major incidents across infrastructure, cybersecurity, telecommunications, vendors, and business teams.


• System Upgrades / Releases / Testing – Experience supporting software deployments, upgrades, migrations, testing, release validation, and production implementations.


• System Integrations & Technical Ownership – Understanding of system architecture, integrations, interfaces, data flows, and downstream dependencies, with the ability to work independently as a technical SME.
