National Fuel Gas Company is seeking an Operational Technology Security Engineer in Williamsville, NY. The role focuses on applying security engineering methods to OT architecture, with governance over the OT information security program and cross-functional collaboration across facilities in Western NY and Northwest PA.

You will develop metrics, implement end-to-end cybersecurity programs for OT/IoT, and deploy automation and AI/ML to detect trends and incidents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in CS, EE or Info Security.
• 2–5 years of field experience in Security/OT.
• Experience in controls, automation engineering, and related software.
• Experience with PLC programming and HMI-based control systems.
• Experience with data communications, networking, and VPNs in Windows environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Flexible hours and travel to facilities across Western NY and NW/Central PA.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to apply security engineering to OT architectures and networks.
• Apply and maintain security policies for OT information security program governance.
• Develop and leverage metrics to enable an effective program.
• Implement end-to-end cybersecurity programs in IoT/OT space.
• Develop and deploy mitigation and remediation programs for OT risks.
• Track exceptions to OT controls and ensure compensating practices.
• Utilize industry frameworks to align with best practices.
• Deploy cybersecurity automation tools to identify and manage OT security events.
• Leverage ML/AI to detect trends and anomalies in the OT environment.
• Support incident response for OT security incidents and remediation.
• Develop playbooks clarifying roles and processes for rapid OT incident response.
• Deploy and maintain technologies for proactive OT security control landscape.
• Build resiliency in OT security operations for cyberattack events.
• Engage with government, industry groups, and partners on OT security approaches.
• Coordinate with internal and third-party stakeholders to validate risk mitigation.
