Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist to provide home health OT services across assigned patients. The OT will deliver care under a physician-approved plan of care, ensuring safety and effectiveness in all aspects of service delivery, with timely documentation and supervision of home health aides as needed.

Current OT license in the state, ACOTE-accredited education, NBCOT eligibility, and CPR certification are required; one year of OT experience is preferred, with mentoring for

• Eligible to take NBCOT certification exam or already certified.
• One year of related occupational therapy experience preferred; mentoring may be required for less experience.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver occupational therapy services under a physician-approved plan of care.
• Ensure the plan of care addresses identified problems and documents rationale.
• Ensure safety and effectiveness of OT service delivery.
• Complete documentation timely and accurately.
• Supervise home health aide when RN is not active in the case.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of occupational therapy service delivery provided under a physician approved plan of care.


• Ensures the plan of care addresses all problems identified in the assessment or documents rationale if identified problems are not addressed in the plan of care.


• Accountable for the safety and effectiveness of the occupational therapy service delivery process.


• Completes documentation timely and accurately.


• Supervises home health aide when RN is not active in the case.


• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice occupational therapy specific to the state you are assigned to work.


• Graduate of an occupational therapy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. (AOTA), or successor organizations of ACOTE


• Eligible to take, or has successfully completed, the entry-level certification examination for occupational therapists developed and administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. (NBCOT).


• One year related occupational therapy experience to ensure knowledge and skills are sufficient to safely provide occupational therapy services to patients.
