Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking an Occupational Therapist, Hand Therapy for a 14-week contract in Grand Forks, ND. The role requires an ND OT license and experience in hand therapy with custom splints, plus travel experience. The therapist will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to evaluate, treat, discharge plan, and educate patients and families.

The schedule is 5 shifts per week, 8 hours per day (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM). Additional duties may be assigned as required by the department.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform and document evaluations and treatments based on patient age, diagnosis, symptoms, and physician orders.
• Orient patients and families about the purpose and procedures of therapy evaluations and treatments.
• Coordinate treatment schedules with other disciplines using appropriate scheduling procedures.
• Monitor program effectiveness, outcomes, and initiate development of new programs.
• Conduct pain assessments and implement necessary actions as per established protocols.
• Document patient information and develop discharge plans with the interdisciplinary team.
• Identify significant patient condition changes and take appropriate actions.
• Provide clinical supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA).
• Perform additional duties as required to meet departmental needs.

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients, ensuring compliance with licensure standards. The therapist collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to develop patient goals, care planning, and discharge planning. They will provide patient-centered care, educating patients and families on treatment procedures, assistive devices, home programs, and other health-related topics.

Required Experience

Certifications/Licensure

• Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) certification from the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required prior to start date.
