LS Power is seeking a highly skilled OT Network Security Engineer to join its 24/7 Operations Group, supporting the Bulk Electric System across multiple U.S. regions.

The role focuses on NERC/CIP compliance, secure network operations, and critical business support in a SCADA environment. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of OT security and network administration experience, along with hands-on work with vendor hardware and strong communication skills to liaise with technical and non-technical

Qualifications

• Experience in network administration within a transmission utility or SCADA environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for network security issues and log/event analysis.
• Experience maintaining security and compliance standards (NERC CIP).
• Hands-on experience configuring and managing multiple vendor hardware.
• Active certifications: CCNA or CompTIA Network+; CCNP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation supporting Bulk Electric System operations.
• Ensure NERC/CIP compliance and support security and operational objectives.
• Configure, update, and maintain network devices including switches, firewalls, IPDS, and related systems.
• Support development projects and ensure security is integrated into solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network security issues efficiently.
• Implement and maintain secure, observable network infrastructure with threat detection.
• Analyze logs and events to address security incidents proactively and reactively.
• Coordinate across teams to support Bulk Electric System.
• Communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Compensation

The salary for this role is $120,000 - $140,000. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York. This salary range may also be modified in the future.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled OT Network Security Engineer to join our 24/7 Operations Group supporting the Bulk Electric System across multiple U.S. regions. This role will be responsible for ensuring NERC/CIP compliance, maintaining secure and reliable network operations, and supporting critical business functions within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Operational Technology (OT) security, network administration, and compliance within a SCADA environment.

What you will do:

• Participate in an 24/7 On-Call rotation that directly supports operational control and visibility of the Bulk Electric System.
• Ensure NERC/CIP compliance and support security and operational objectives.
• Configure, update, and maintain various network devices including switches, firewalls, IPDS, and associated systems.
• Support ongoing development projects and ensure security is integrated.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network security issues efficiently.
• Implement and maintain security-centric network infrastructure, ensuring visibility and threat detection.
• Analyze network logs and events to address security incidents proactively and reactively.
• Coordination between various teams in support of the Bulk Electric System.
• Convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical individuals and teams.

• Have 5+ years of experience in network administration within a transmission utility or SCADA operational environment.
• Possess strong troubleshooting skills for network security issues and log/event analysis.
• Have experience maintaining security and compliance standards.
• Have hands-on experience with configuring and managing multiple vendor hardware.
• Hold the following Certifications:
  • Active CCNA OR CompTIA Network+ (minimum 1 year of experience)
  • Active CCNP (preferred, 2+ years of experience)
• Have operational technology experience within a SCADA or utility sector (within the last 2-3 years).
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Can manage crisis situations and emergency responses.
• Possess 24/7 on-call experience with effective time and change management.
• Are self-motivated and mission-focused work approach.
