Job summary

North Star BlueScope Steel, LLC is seeking a Reliability Network Engineer and Cybersecurity Coordinator to design, secure, and maintain OT networking infrastructure for critical manufacturing operations. You will bridge Operations, IT, Cybersecurity, and external partners to deliver resilient, scalable OT environments.

Responsibilities include architecture design, standardization, vulnerability remediation, and governance aligned with ISA/IEC and NIST frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or IT or CS or equivalent.
• Fundamental IT and cybersecurity concepts understood.
• Willing to work outside normal hours to address production needs.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, and maintain OT network architecture and topology.
• Develop standardized OT network design patterns for plant systems.
• Support scalable, reliable, and secure OT deployments and upgrades.
• Define segmentation, zoning, and isolation aligned with NIST/ISA standards.
• Coordinate OT networks with IT and cybersecurity teams for secure DMZs.
• Monitor and respond to security events; assist incident response.
• Lead vulnerability remediation and patching for OT devices.
• Maintain OT asset inventories and lifecycle management.
• Produce detailed OT network documentation and change records.
• Provide mentoring on networking best practices to OT staff.
