Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design and secure complex enterprise networks across multiple sites. You will implement new solutions, optimize performance, and monitor systems with SolarWinds and Wireshark, leading fault investigations in LAN/WAN environments. This role requires strong routing, VPNs, and security practices.

Contract through December 2027 with extensions; onsite four days per week in Findlay, OH, Denver, CO, Pittsburg, PA, or San Antonio, TX.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) with SD-WAN tools; strong network monitoring using SolarWinds and Wireshark.
• Windows security practices including patch management, firewall configuration, and access control.
• Solid grasp of TCP/IP, subnets, VLANs; experience configuring switches/routers/firewalls; knowledge of VPNs, network segmentation, IDS/IPS; adept at traffic analysis and performance optimization.

Establish the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation and defining, documenting and enforcing system standards Design and implement new solutions and improve resilience of the current environment Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimization Undertake data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments using information from multiple sources Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access

Skills and Requirements

1. Networking: Proficiency in routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP. Expertise in SD-WAN technologies and related tools. Advanced knowledge of network monitoring and analysis tools like SolarWinds and Wireshark.
2. Windows Server Administration: Familiarity with Windows security practices such as patch management, firewall configuration, and access control.
3. Network Management: Strong background in TCP/IP, subnets, VLANs, and routing. Experience configuring and managing switches, routers, and firewalls. Knowledge of VPNs, network segmentation, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Skilled in network traffic analysis, diagnosing connectivity issues, and performance optimization.
