Job summary
Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility. This role supports rehabilitation under the supervision of an OT, focusing on helping residents regain daily independence.
Requirements include graduation from an accredited OTA program and NY licensure; new graduates with relevant experience are welcome. We offer a $5,000 sign-on bonus, comprehensive benefits, PTO from day one, and strong mentorship and CEU opportunities.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
- Current New York State OTA license.
- Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric care preferred; new grads with relevant experience welcome.
Responsibilities
- Select therapy activities per supervising OT plan of care.
- Assist residents in daily activities.
- Monitor performance, provide encouragement, document progress.
- Teach residents to use equipment to aid daily function.
- Collaborate with OT to establish rehabilitation plan.
- Maintain cooperative relationships within the healthcare team.
- Uphold evidence-based practices per AOTA standards.
