Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility. This role supports rehabilitation under the supervision of an OT, focusing on helping residents regain daily independence.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited OTA program and NY licensure; new graduates with relevant experience are welcome. We offer a $5,000 sign-on bonus, comprehensive benefits, PTO from day one, and strong mentorship and CEU opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Current New York State OTA license.
• Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric care preferred; new grads with relevant experience welcome.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities per supervising OT plan of care.
• Assist residents in daily activities.
• Monitor performance, provide encouragement, document progress.
• Teach residents to use equipment to aid daily function.
• Collaborate with OT to establish rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain cooperative relationships within the healthcare team.
• Uphold evidence-based practices per AOTA standards.

Sigma Health Rehab is actively seeking aFull-time Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA/COTA)to work in aSkilled Nursing Facility.

COTA Requirements Include:

• Graduate of an accredited OTA Program
• Current New York State OTA License
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting is preferred, but new graduates with relevant experience

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• collaborate with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members
• Current evidence-based practices consistent with the standards and recommendations of the American Occupational Therapy Association
