Job summary

Montgomery County ESC is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant to join the Regional Center in Dayton, OH. This full-time role supports licensed therapists and works with students to improve mobility, self-care, and daily living skills.

You'll conduct therapy activities, document progress, and collaborate with families and staff to ensure effective services while maintaining a safe, organized workspace and adhering to district protocols.

Qualifications

• Licensed OT/PT Assistant and Ohio credentials required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities essential.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and adapt activities for individual student needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed therapists in implementing interventions per student service plans.
• Guide students in therapy regimens to improve mobility, strength, dexterity, coordination, and daily living skills.
• Conduct activity and environmental analyses to identify barriers to participation.
• Implement safety precautions and assist with sensory processing, equipment use, and classroom positioning.
• Document therapy progress, maintain records, and assist with reporting and in-service presentations.
• Support families and staff in understanding therapy services and objectives.
• Maintain and organize therapy equipment and supplies, ensuring a safe and clean workspace.
